Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Eddie Mundo, Jr.

Thank you for your sevice to our Great Country and to the people of LaGrange. You are still missed but not forgotten. Your memory will live on through all those that were blessed enough to have met you.

April 16, 2007

Uncle Eddie it's hard to believe that it's been 4 years today. Every day I think of you in some way. It's still hard to believe that you are gone. My wedding was almost 2 years ago. We had a candle for you. But I could feel your spirit there that day. I decided this year to not be sad today that you are gone, but to celebrate your life and the legacy of little "Baby X" that you left behind. You did so many great things while you were here. So keep shinning down on us Eddie! We will always miss you and keep you close to our hearts.

Four years, has been four years since you left us because it seems like only yesterday. Everytime I hear the song "hero" I am reminded of your leaving us. My family has grown bigger, I now have a two & half year old daughter and a brand new son...how I wish they could have known you. You had / have the unique ability to touch peoples lives in a way that will stay with them for a lifetime. You are my best friend and without you I would not have what I do and be the person I am today without your friendship. I owe you so much and it makes me sad to know I cannot tell you in person what you have done for me. People still ask for stickers for you, and that makes me very happy to know those who you touched continue to remember you and to show thier support for you.
I will never have a friend that did as much for me as you, I am very proud to call you my friend.

My family loves you and misses you
God bless your family and friends.

hi mundi, just want to tell you that I LOVE YOU, it has been 4 years. But it still feel like yesterday. Just spoke with Julian said he was at the beach and saw seahorses. Dad is doing good, still working at Metro. Not a day goes by that someone mention your name. If you was here you laugh. Your Uncle Tiny is seeing a Doctor who wife went to school with you. What a small world. WE LOVE YOU VERY MUCH, MOM AND DAD

Eddie,
Not a day goes by that I don't think about you or see some reminder of you. After reading your wife's last reflection, I was taken back by how quickly time goes by. To me, I can still see you walking through the squad room door saying "wasup" half asleep from working the late shift. I know you are proud of your little family and keep a close watch over them any time/any where. Brandi, you and Julian are always in my thoughts/prayers as well. I know you and the Mundos miss him, as do we, but I take comfort in knowing that he is still with us and watches over us. Especially his little family. Remember that the two of you are always a part of the LaGrange Police family as well. Take care and God Bless.

You live through everyone that loved you and I know you'll always be with us. I think of all the memories we shared in high school and after. I think of your parents and your son often and will keep them in my prayers. We miss you.

Eddie, there will never be a day that goes by, that I will ever forget you and the memories we had in school. I will never forget the days of cutting weight, or the early Saturday mornings to catch the bus for wrestling tournaments. I share those memories of you when reminising of the past. Our prayers will always be with you and your entire family. God Bless+.

Uncle Eddie, its been three years since you were taken from us, but it feels like just yesterday. For some unknown reason I woke early on that Wednesday morning and turned on the 6:00am news. The breaking story was of an officer who had been killed in LaGrange. I knew right at that moment that I had seen and talked to you for the last time. It was a hard time for us, and an even harder time for your family. Looking back I realize that even the small amount of time you were with us was the most precious, and I am so glad that I got to share it with you. I would do anything to take away the hurt that we all still feel, but I know I will see you again one day! I love you Uncle E!!!!

PS.> Every time I watch Moulin Rouge I think of you! : )

On this, the third anniversary of when you were taken from your loved ones, I just wanted to say hello and salute you for your sacrifice.

I pray the grief has eased somewhat for your family and that they can get some rest and recall happy, wonderful times with you. I know that someday we all will be reunited in Heaven with our loved ones and what a joyful time that will be.

Bless you for the work you did to keep your community safe. Bless your family and your co-workers.

Eddie,

Today is Easter and it has been three (3) years since you departed this life. I think of you often and prayer for your mother and father daily. I know you are watching over them and your son; and smiling down on them as they go through their day to day activities.

Take care my friend,

It will be 3 years that your tour of duty ended and I know your family has shed enough tears to fill a small pond. You are remembered every day and will for as long as your loved ones walk this earth. Your close friends in Blue will keep your memory alive forever as you are a true hero. Keep watch over your family and protect them from harm. Also, keep watch over those still out on patrol. You will never be forgotten.

Eddie,
It's been awhile but I still think about you every day. I just want you to know that you are my hero. I'm halfway following in your footsteps. I'm now a Marine and finally making a name for myself. I just hope I can live up to your expectations. I know you are watching over me because there is no way I would have made it this far without you. I love and miss you Uncle E!

Ed,
I was talking with Lisa today about how much I enjoyed working at the SO and how my current position just doesnt compare to how enjoyable it was. She said" could have been because of Eddie".
You made a real difference in peoples lives...I see Mike every once and a while in court and am reminded of how much fun we had...Its just not the same. I know its been almost three years and I should be moving on...but I will always remember those times and I will promise to honor you by doing what we love to do. Having such a good friend as you were was a real blessing, you helped me in one of the toughest times in my life and helped me start a new life with Lisa.I think thats why I remember little things every now and then, because of the sheer impact that your friendship had on my life.
Being able to leave these reflections in someway lets me feel like I am talking to you.
God bless you, your family and friends
