Reflections for Deputy Sheriff James W. Dunn, II

My dad’s grandfather was James Dunn, which makes him my great grandfather. My father’s father’s name was Leroy Dunn. My dad’s name is Eugene Dunn and my uncle’s name was Weldon Dunn, both from Corvallis. My brother has two Dunn boys who have two Dunn boys each. My cousin has a boy, although doesn’t carry her maiden name Dunn but nevertheless is a direct descendant from James. We put flowers on his grave every year at Memorial Day.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was muurdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

This man was my great great grandfather. I am proud to have such a courageous family member. I'm only 16 now but am planning to follow in his footsteps as a Police Officer.
