Your heroism and service is honored today, the 10th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect and you will always be honored and revered. I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace

Forgive me for missing the anniversary of your E.O.W., but I felt as though I could not continue to read about so many tragedies. I now realize the visit each day to leave a word of encouragement and hope to the loved ones of others, helps me to remember that I am not alone with my pain and heartbreak. So may I say to your friends and loved ones that my thoughts and prayers are with them now and always. Continue to keep watch over them and those still out on patrol and may they know you will never be forgotten.

My fiancé, Dennis McElderry, was the first law enforcement casualty of 2003. Dennis was a Deputy Sheriff with the Davis County Sheriff's Office in SE Iowa. Dennis died doing a job he loved, just as I'm sure Angela did. It saddens me to know that Dennis was not the first to die in the line of duty, nor will he and Angela be the last to die this way.

Having gone through the pain of losing Dennis I can truly understand and feel the pain that Agent Ruiz-Arroyo's family, friends, and co-workers must have gone through in losing her. My heart goes out to you all. No one can truly understand the pain of our loss until they've walked in our shoes. Please know that my thoughts are with you and that you are not alone in your "journey". Should you ever need anything please do not hesitate to contact me. (Dennis' department will also always know how to reach me.)

As a fallen officer "survivor" and a friend, please accept my condolences on behalf of myself and the McElderry family. I never got the opportunity to know Angela but, I am certain she was well respected and well loved. Angela will live on in the hearts of all the lives he touched. You were all blessed to have been able to know and love Angela, even for a short time. I pray that Angela will continue to watch over us along with all the other fallen officers all as only they can.

Thank you Agent Ruiz-Arroyo for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please say "hello" to my fiancé Dennis for me.

Wishing you and all those who loved you brighter and better days,

Jocelyne :)

~~~When Tomorrow Starts Without Me~~~
When tomorrow starts without me, and I'm not there to see; If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me; I wish so much you wouldn't cry the way you did today, while thinking of the many things we didn't get to say. I know how much you love me, as much as I love you, and each time you think of me I know you'll miss me too; But when tomorrow starts without me, try to understand, that an angel came and called my name and took me by the hand, and said my place was ready in Heaven far above, and that I'd have to leave behind all those I dearly love. But as I turned to walk away, a tear fell from my eye, for all my life, I'd always thought I didn't want to die. I had so much to live for and so much yet to do, it seemed almost impossible that I was leaving you. I thought of all the yesterdays, the good ones and the bad, I thought of all the love we shared and all the fun we had. If I could relive yesterday, I thought, just for a while, I'd say good-bye and kiss you and maybe see you smile. But then I fully realized that this could never be, for emptiness and memories would take the place of me. And when I thought of worldly things I'd miss come tomorrow, I thought of you, and when I did, my heart was filled with sorrow. But when I walked through Heaven's gates, I felt so much at home. When God looked down and smiled at me, From His great golden throne, He said, "This is eternity and all I've promised you. Today for life on earth is past but here it starts anew. I promise no tomorrow, but today will always last, and since each day's the same day, there's no longing for the past. But you have been so faithful, so trusting and so true. Though there were times you did some things you knew you shouldn't do. But you have been forgiven and now at last you're free, so won't you take my hand and share my life with me?" So when tomorrow starts without me, don't think we're far apart, for every time you think of me, I'm right there in your heart.
Angela,
Recently I went to your station, and it was so hard to see the reception area without the decorations you used to place all over, it was like your signature. We all miss you. We miss to hear your voice over the radio or the phone, you were always happy! Possibly God has a job for you up there, now you are one of our angels... our blue angels.
Angela, I had the honor of escorting your parents at the 2003 National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial services and seeing them at COPS that week. Your mother proudly wore your picture around her neck, and your father treasures the Medal of Honor he received for you. It broke my heart to watch his face, as we walked to their seats after receiving your award. He never took his eyes off of it until we were at the chairs. Then he looked up with tears in his eyes. He and your mother miss you terribly, but are very proud of you and what you have done with your life. I wish I had gotten to know them, and you, before you passed, but I will always be proud I could do this for you, and take care of your mom and dad on such a hard day.
Officer Kammy Knox
Alexandria Police Department
Dear Angela
Your parents came to National Police Week 2003 in DC, they were so very proud of you and to see your name on the wall was something incredible for them, they talked to President Bush at the Police Memorial and took pictures with him. they can't still believed what happend during this week..Please, take care of them always.
