Dear Joe,
My best memory is when at football camp when I dislocated my shoulder and couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. With "teammates" and "coaches" yelling and calling me names as I tried to sort out what was wrong, you, as our head manager, was the only who gave a damn.
I'm glad we were able to sit together in our high school classes and stay in touch until that unfortunate day.
You are truly one of the GOOD GUYS.

Just got a flyer regarding your memorial motorcycle run this weekend. I was a local officer that was there when this tragedy occurred. I still vividly remember the events of that morning on a daily basis. Although, prior to this incident I did not personally know you, I feel as if we are forever connected. I come to this site, your page frequently, thinking and hoping you are now the guardian angel looking over us. Rest in Peach, my brother! You will never be forgotten!

Only days before this incident, I left this noble profession to better provide for my family. I recall many times that you and I worked together, Joe, and especially the time that you handled an unnecessary call for me which put you into OT, just so I could take my family fishing and enjoy some private time.
Only chance prevented me from being there that night, and I still wonder if I could have made a difference in protecting my brother. You truely are not forgotten, and this date is etched into my memory forever. Nearly all of thoes there that night will have a good idea who I am, but I prefer to remain nameless, for I know this was only one of many acts of kindness given to brother officers by you.

Joe,
It has been awhile since I visited your page. I just wanted to let you know that I still think about you often and will never forget the times we spent working together at PSP Ebensburg. As a young Trooper back then, you were someone I looked up to.
Please continue to watch over us.

Joe, think about you alot. I was not a trooper when your watch ended but I was a local officer in Cambria County in 2002. Been thinking about you alot over the past two days. Another senseless tragedy occurred on December 6th. A Penn Hills officer lost his life to gunfire while sitting in his cruiser waiting for back up on a disturbance call. Joe, continue to watch over your brothers and sisters and keep us safe. You will NEVER be forgotten.

Missing you more and more each day Joe. I can't believe its been 7 years since you were taken from us. You live on not only in our memories, but in your three beautiful children. My heart will be always be empty without my big brother here to lean and rely on. I know you are sending us the strength now to help other families deal with their loss, which I know is something you would want us to do. I love and miss you so much!

Trooper Joseph James Sepp,
To have died in the performance of duty as a law officer bespeaks the hazards inherent in an occupation centered on providing protection to others. Few other jobs involve placing ourselves at such a high risk so that the every day public might remain safe. Only a small and select portion of the population even thinks about donning a uniform and representing the barrier which stands between good and evil. When such a noble volunteer dies, especially in the battle of defending others, he/she is deemed to a hero. It does not matter who might not agree, because Courage, Dedication, and Valor now speak the the one who has been struck down. And, it is these values that deem him or her a hero. Sadness is present for family and friends. Heartache is something that might last forever. But each who admires the hero should know that he/she has provided for them a husband or wife, a father or mother, a son or daughter, a relative or friend that has brought Honor to himself, his family, his co-workers and friends that only the return of life itself could possibly replace. Trooper Joseph James Sepp is such a hero. He lived as Pennsylvania state trooper. Our creed it to lay down our lives rather than swerve from the path of duty. He stands as a shining example for all others who wear our uniform and for every cadet who enters our academy. He, among slain law officers everywhere, has demonstrated nobly what it might cost any of us who call ourselves soldiers of the law.
Well done trooper,...well done.

Joe,
I still look at your reflections and think about how many people miss you. Whenever I walk into PSP Ebensburg I see your picture on the wall and it reminds me of the phone call when I heard about what happened. No one at Ebensburg, Troop A, or PSP will ever forget. We all miss you. Rest in Peace.
