I remember the day we heard the news. I also remember your celebration of life. You were my instructor for traffic school and I was awed at how you traffic guys loved to do accident reports! I'm sure that if there is an accident in heaven, God will reach out to you for the report. Matt Davis Park is beautiful. You would've been proud.
Stand down and rest easy, my friend. We will never forget our fallen comrades.

It's been 17 years since my daddy died and I just discovered this website filled with really beautiful messages about my dad. I was so little when he passed.. so it's amazing to read that he was indeed the heroic, compassionate, generous man I viewed him as. It wasn't because I was a naive, innocent child, he really was the most perfect man and father. I wish I could regain every lost memory we had together and dance on his feet once more and wake up early to make pancakes. While our gracious God can grant healing and overwhelming peace, there will always be a part of me yearning, aching, hoping, hurting, for you.

Thank you for those who wrote such beautiful things. I wish I could hear more stories you shared with my dad. It's like a big part of him is lost since there is so much I do not know. And thank you for those who never stopped thinking and praying for us. If only you could see the amazing things my mom and family have triumphantly overcome with so much bravery. And now as a married woman I can't stop viewing my mom as the most amazing, lionhearted, sacrificial woman. Man. My dad was a lucky man.

14 years ago today we received the tragic news Matt and the pain never goes away. I can just imagine the pain and sorrow that your whole family still endures to this day. Mrs. Huffman, you raised a fine son who was always there for his fellow deputies and had a heart of gold. You and your hubby should always be proud. We will never forget your son.

Hey Matty,
I can't believe it is going to be 8 years tomorrow since we lost you. Although the grief no longer owns my every waking hour, I feel like I miss you more than ever. I long for your thoughtful wisdom and sensitive way of expressing your opinion. I surely could use your advice, love, and insights right now. I know God's ways are perfect and beyond my understanding but, I deeply feel you were taken from us far too soon. I will forever love and miss you and pray that I will see you again in hopes that we will be able to make-up for all of this lost time. I love you little brother...Gina
