Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Morris L. Taylor

I am a friend and client of Morris' wonderful and sincere father, Lyn. I did not have the opportunity to know Morris, but still my heart swells with pride that such an outstanding person lived among us. His values were exemplary and his faith solid. He apparently lived his life with a conscious awareness of his love for God, his family and mankind. The loss for his family and his friends...for all of us...is huge. As for Morris, I'm confident that he continues to love and to serve. I know he is with God, and lives in peace.

Depity Morris Taylor A New Creation

Officer Taylor Loved The Lord and Talked About Him
11 Corinthians 5:11 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new ccreation: the old has gone, the new has come!

Morris told me Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.

Morris you made a difference in our department We misse you and your smile and your witt.

Your friends in the department DCS

My name is Billie Morris was my DARE officer at school. I am Now 13 years old He made an impack on my life . I did not know Jesus But Morris told me about the love of Christ. I am now a chrisatian. and I wan,t to be a COP like him.

I loved morris and he was the one who led me tom Christ

Thanks Morris for being there for all us kids.

Billy, John and Mark all are Christians.

It's truly amazing to hear Morris's Mother and Father reflect on the pride and joy they have for their son. All those seeds of faith. that were planted over the years to "let his little light shine" are being watered by tears. There are tears of joy for the peace Morris is experiencing and tears of sorrow from his being missed on earth, but the pride and recognition by his parents of his walk of faith, his desire to help his fellow man and woman, the love for his wife and the wonderful tributes to God he willing shared, are all living on because of who he was. I'm proud of his parents for their faith and truly sorrowful for their earthly loss and extremely thankful for their friendship. Georgia Charpentier

I miss Morris! I only had the chance to have a small amount of time with my new-found brother, but it came at a time when I had recently become a christian. Morris truly modeled what he believed to be true about Christ. You tend to think you have plenty of time with your loved ones. Such was not the case for me. I send my prayers to Margaret, Liz, Lyn and Melissa. I look forward to making up for lost time with Morris in Heaven!

My name is Tom. I know officer Taylor from San Diego.
He is a Christian and because of him My mother, my friend and I became christians.

I was 16 years old and my friend was 17. We both were smoking pot at that time. Officer Taylor came to our school and found us with the smokes. After checking our record, and found none, he took my friend and I home. We did not have a record and Officer Taylor gave us a Christian track from his church. He talked with my mother my friend, and I about Christ. Because of him we became christians.

I am now a Chaplin in the Arm Services.

We will see him again soon.

God gave Officer Taylor a gift and that was a gift of love for his fellow men.

Although I never met Morris Taylor, his reflections express how he was loved by many and a very courageous hero. God Bless Lyn, Liz and family during this difficult time. My prayers go out to all of you.

I am so deeply touched by the preceding comments that were written above. What a beautiful legacy Officer Taylor has left behind! What an even greater legacy we have in Christ, (for those of us who know the Lord Jesus).

It is abundantly clear that Morris' life was not lived in vain and that he fulfilled his mission and purpose on this earth with honor and humility. My prayer may be a selfish one, but I am moved to ask the Lord to cause me to pursue Officer Taylor's example, because it is quite obvious (according to the words I've read) that he followed after the Living God and lived a life according to the path modeled by our precious Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ......a life of sacrafice and service!

My husband and I will continue to keep his dear family in our thoughts and prayers. You are loved.

I have known this officer and his family for many years and so sorry to hear of his death, I do wish his wife and family my best wishes and may time heal you. God Bless you all.

Morris,

God has a reason for calling you home. I was not enriched in knowing you the last 15 years in person, but from all I have heard from freinds and family you truly grew into a wonderful loving man, never losing your smile or sense of humor.

Becoming a peace officer is a hard job to follow. You had a everlasting effect on most you came in contact with. You will not be forgotten.

Liz, Lyn, Melissa and Margaret my deepest prayers go out to you, may you be strong in this time with freinds and family nearby to help you.

Many Prayers,

Donna

The loss of Morris touched my family's life deeply. My mother was a law officer for a short time and I remember dreeding each time she went to work, always wondering if it would be the last time I would see her alive. Being a part of the law enforcement family, I got to know Morris and his wife very well. The thing I remember most about Morris was his smile. He was genuinely happy and loved life. He was an inspiration and hero to all who knew him. I feel deeply honored that I was able to call him my friend. His spirit will be greatly missed.
To his wife, Margaret, I extend my deepest sympathies.I wish there was more I could do or say to make this tragedy less painful. Just know that we care and are praying for you.
God bless all of those who have lost a love one in the line of duty and for those who serve and protect.Thank you for your diligence and your sacrifice. No words could ever express the gratitude I have for you.

In memory of our Beloved Son, Morris Lyn Taylor,
EOW 09-14-02. It has been two months since our Lord took you home.

Although we continue to mourn your death, we take solace in knowing that you lived and died serving and protecting those you loved in a very special community. We continue to pray that God will continue to nurture the seeds of faith that you planted in us all so that we can all be together again someday.

We have always been proud of you and continue to be proud. We are so thankful that you were our son. You will live in our hearts always, till we meet again.

Loving you,

Mom and Dad

Morris is greatly missed. I think of him often and remember his smiling face. Isaiah 26:3,4 says "You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for in the Lord God you have an everlasting rock."

I want you to know that I am praying for your family.
I am a friend of Debbie and Lou. Morris is with the Lord. I know that you will miss him greatly, but please know that he is always in your heart. Kerry

Morris I met you when you were a cute little Halloween creature going from door to door getting all the candy that your large shopping bag could hold. You were so happy.
Your Mother Elizabeth and I have known each other since the 5th grade. It has only been in the last four or five years that we have been E-Mailing each other.
Your Mother and Father have been so proud of you, in your personal life as well as the career that you choose for yourself.
It takes a very special person that wants to help and protect his fellow man.
You will always be loved and never, never will you be forgotten.

While I did not know Deputy Morris Taylor, I grew up with his wife and did attend their wedding.

There are no words that are adequate at a time like this to convey the sorrow I felt when I heard that Deputy Taylor had been killed. It is disheartening to realize that all too often we forget the unsung heroes who are out there every day putting their lives on the line so that we may sleep better at night during such turbulent days as these. I thank the Lord that there are people like Deputy Taylor who are willing to do just that, but equally saddened at the tragic cost. Praise God that Deputy Taylor knew his savior Jesus.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones. Margaret Mary, may the love you shared, your cherished memories, and the knowledge that your dear husband has gone home to be with Jesus bring you some peace.

I have spent my whole life, a daughter of a Law Enforcement Officer. I then grew up and married one. So We Know & Love Many in this field.

The death of Deputy Morris Taylor has been a great loss to all of us. His smile will live on forever! He is now up there in Heaven with Our Heavenly Father and no doubt watching over all of us. He will be the brightest star in the night's sky. I know his wings fit him perfectly.

We will never forget you 108...

God Bless All Our Law Enforcement Officers,
Wherever They May Patrol.

Deputy Morris Taylor now walks the beat in the shadow of his Lord God and his beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.

The weeks preceding have been most difficult in the community in which he served. I am a co-worker and a friend of Morris. Many kind words have been spoken and written about this fine man. I’m here to tell you, they are all true!

I thank all those who supported us through this time of great loss. The support has been overwhelming from all over the country.

Lest we not forget the other direct casualty from the incident that terrible morning. Another brother deputy was also immensely affected by the incident. This man too, is a hero. He not only has to live with taking another’s life, but will be filled with questions about how his actions might have changed the outcome.

They could not have. He did everything right, and he is NOT responsible for any of it. The murderer bears that burden alone. He set the tragedy into motion all by his sick and depraved self!

I am not a religious zealot, but I am a Christian. My only solace is that both Morris and his backup deputy both have an extremely close relationship with Jesus Christ. There is NO doubt where Morris is today. He spent his whole life preparing for it. Though I will miss him, and my heart aches for his sweet wife, I am excited for Morris.

Morris was so loyal to his faith that in the preceding weeks before his death, he’d been called on the carpet in the boss’ office for trying to help those he policed to find their way to Christ. He’d been counseled twice in those weeks.

Morris was unyielding on this point. After 13 years of being a cop, something he’d dreamed of being since he was five, he decided he would assess his options (and he had many) that would allow him to continue to minister to those he would help. He was willing to give up his earthly love of law enforcement, so he could remain true and loyal to his faith!

Morris, I hope your wings fit you well. I look forward to meeting you again, walking the streets of God’s beat!

Rest easy now my brother, your good work here on earth is done. You have served us all proudly. You will be greatly missed!

A grieving friend.

May the Lord comfort and bless the Morris family through this most difficult time. I knew Morris before he became a police officer. I worked with him at the coker unit at Arco/BP. He was a great friend. We all feel a great loss at Arco/BP. He will be truly missed. May the Lord Bless you and your family and coworkers through these most difficult times.
