PFC Magruder, as your family faces the 19th EOW, may you know that you are not forgotten. Your young son has grown up to be a fine man, many summers my granddaughter and I spent with him and your husband at kids camp. It is so hard to believe that so much time has passed, when we thought we would never make it through that terrible day. My prayers are with Devin and Derwin today and always. May you continue to rest in peace and continue to watch over those who love and miss you so much.

I could never bring myself to write, and to her family I am sorry for that. I was Liz's desk mate in the Academy, PELTP2001-1. I can speak first hand to what kind of person she was and the dedication she gave to the whole world, not just law enforcement. She was always funny, sometimes goofy, and almost always in a good mood. She often spoke of her husband and her son Devin: they were her motivation to excel in the academy. Liz was in incredible shape and excelled at all the physical tests- even at her diminutive stature. We often helped each other classwork; I helped her with the curriculm and she helped me stay organized. She was a team player and very loyal. In all these years there has not been one single day that I have not thought of "Mags" and the family she has left behind. With all the recent unrest I just felt that it was finally time to post a glimpse to MY fallen sister in blue... Like all officers she was a PERSON with family, friends, and co-workers that will forever miss her. She was a mother and wife first and formost. She was a friend, a mentor, and someone who cared for people and society. Mag's intentions were pure and she wore her heart on her sleave. She will forever be missed by those blessed to know her.

To Private First Class Magruder's son, your mother is now in Heaven with God. While she was alive she loved you so very much, and also wanted to protect you and her community from bad people who want to cause harm to innocent people. I'm proud of your mother for being the type of person she was; a Police Officer. God bless you and look over you as I am sure your mother will look over you from Heaven.
