Deputy Sheriff Pratt,
On today, the 150th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a LEO but for our Country as well when you served with the Union Army during the Civil War.

At the age of 19 Deputy Pratt joined the 11th Illinois Cavalry, Company H. He did hard duty in Tennessee and Mississippi, including the Battle of Shiloh, and mustered out as a corporal after his three year term was completed. Thank you for this website, he deserves the lasting remembrance of his countrymen.
My G-grandfather served in the same regiment.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 144th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Henry, I've known of your murder for many years. In fact, I wrote and published a book about it. After serving 3 years in the Civil War, engaging in many major battles, you managed to survive, only to come home and be murdered by a worthless coward.
We've got you this far Henry Pratt, now to get you on the memoral wall.
