You were truly a great officer. You had excellent command presence but also it took so much to get your blood pressure to rise a digit to two.

On this anniversary, I say hello to you my friend and colleague.

Happy Birthday in heaven Melissa. You should be here with us to celebrate but we know you have your brother there with you now to do that. Miss you and Chris! Love you to eternity! We think of you every day. There are so many reminders in our home that we feel you both around us always. It gives us some peace and comfort that you're both together, but still sadness that you're not here,

Melissa was a friend of mine and the finest officer MPD could offer. Sadly, I've lost other friends from MPD as well. My buddy Sgt. James Kaju was taken way too early... Both Melissa and Jim are in heaven, which gives me some solace.

We're already into the New Year and I have lost all track of time. Christmas and New Years were a little subdued. Just couldn't seem to get in the spirit. I hope you & your brother celebrated together, along with our other family members and friends who have gone before us. We always think of you both...from now until we meet again.

Love you to eternity!

We surely didn't forget August 1st! How could we possibly. Just didn't get a chance to get on the computer to send a reflection. We were preparing for your favorite brother Chris' farewell from this earth. I hope you had a good reunion on the 28th of June! We're still in shock as we were with your passing but knowing you're together gives us some peace and comfort.
I know you're both looking over all of us & we certainly could use a good sign!
Love you both...from now to eternity!!

Thinking of Melissa, her family and the Minneapolis PD during this time of civil unrest. May God's watchful eye and guiding Holy Spirit lead us through the darkness.

Today is your birthday. Wish you were here so we could celebrate. You'll most likely have a bigger celebration in heaven! Just wanted to let you know we're thinking of you today on your special day, but you're in our thoughts every day, always. I always feel you are with us and look over the officers of the Mpls.PD. They need our prayers and support
They have ours! Love to eternity!

You are always on our minds, but especially at this time of year. Its Christmas Eve Day.....things are different this year because of covid. We aren't having our family get-together this year because of it, no one wants to get sick. Delivered presents yesterday. Tonight Chris and Melissa(your namesake)....odd that he chose a Melissa for his wife!? ( I don't think so)are coming for dinner & to spend part of the evening. Christmas day will be quiet. Just your dad and me....you'll be with us....I'm watching movies and relaxing....we used to do that quite a bit...now again.

Love, you to eternity

With everything going on in Minneapolis and the rest of the country in this past week it’s hard not to think of you and your sacrifice doing something you loved. Hoping your friends and former co-workers stay safe.

I left a reflection yesterday on your birthday but don't see it posted yet. In case somehow I did something wrong and it isn't posted.....just letting you know you're remembered on your special day and always. In earthly years your age would be reversed this year! But....you'll still always be my "baby girl" no matter the age. Love you to eternity!

We remembered you yesterday as we do everyday. Just didn't have a good connection on the computer to get our message out. You know how we feel. As you know, we're not in our house, but hope to be back soon. The fire ruined a lot but the blue lights we had outside survived! The light fixtures were a bust but we feel you had a hand in saving those lights! Can't believe its been 17 years since you were taken from us Miss you every single day. Until we meet again.....love you to eternity!
