Friends may think we have forgotten
When at times they see us smile.
Little do they know to heartaches and pain,
That our smiles hide, all the while.
Beautiful memories are Wonderful things,
They never wear out, they never get lost,
And can never be given away.
To some you may be forgotten,
To other, a part of the past,
But to those who love you and lost you,
Your memory will always last.
For those who loved you an havent forgot you
We ask for them to keep us in their prayers.
In the coming weeks for we are to face
The man that taken you from us, as the trial
starts in 2 weeks. I know God is with us and his
Will,will be done.
I love you,and miss you,Ron

IT IS ALWAYS SAD WHEN ANY ONE DIES AS OFFICER JONES DID AND HOW HE DID. I RETIRED FROM WARREN/ DYNEGY SECURITY IN MT. BELVIEU, TEXAS WITH THE RANK OF SARGEANT AND AM CURRENTLY THE HEAD NIGHT WATCHMAN FOR THE CITY OF ANNAHUAC (ANNA-WACK), A SMALL TOWN OF SOME 2000 PEOPLE LOCATED BETWEEN HOUSTON AND BEAUMONT TEXAS. WE HAVE SUSPECTED DEALS GOING ON AROUND HERE ALL THE TIME AND HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO GET INVOLVED IN ONE. I AM A FORMER RESIDENT OF PRENTISS AND WAS YOUR MORNING ANNOUNCER FOR THE NOW DEFUNCT RADIO STATION WKPO. A.M. IN SUCH A POSITION I KNEW THE PRENTISS OFFICERS ON DUTY AT THAT TIME IN 1968-69. I RECALL RABBITT MCGINNIS, MR. BASS, AND MR. TRUESDALE. WE HAD A QUITE TOWN BACK THEN AND NEVER WOULD HAVE DREAMED ANYTHING SUCH AS HAPPENED TO OFFICER JONES COULD EVER HAPPEN. THANK YOU RON JONES FOR KEEPING PRENTISS AND MY EXTENDED FAMILY, ALL OF PRENTISS SAFE FOR AS LONG AS YOU DID. HANK GUPTON

Our hearts go out to you and your family. Our family knows all too well the pain you feel. We will keep you in our prayers. John 14:27

Son it has been a year and a half since you were taken away from your mother and I and your brothers. It is so hard to make it through each day but knowing that one day we will meet again and walk hand in hand with you and Jesus gives us strength to carry on. We miss and love you very much.

Dad

To the Mother of this fine officer,
There are no words that can describe the hurt experienced at the loss of a child, no matter what age. A Mother is there when it all begins and the special bond that is formed is something only God can create. This officer is considered by many to be an oustanding person and rightfully so and it was your love and influence on his life that contributed to this. I know there is nothing I or anyone else can say that will ease your pain but God bless you for your dedication to your son. It's the prayers of mothers and wives that help us do our job day in and day out cause you see we are not really the strong ones, we are just a product of your strength. I pray that it gets easier for you.

Policeman's 23rd Psalm
(Author Unknown)

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind.

He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans I'm a "minister of God,"
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name's sake He keeps me whole.

When I walk through death's valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.

He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life's enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, "Well done...,"
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun

A Friend

ANOTHER DAY WITHOUT
THE STILLNESS OF THE MORNING WAKES ME,
BUT I CANNOT SEE
WHY THERE BEGINS ANOTHER DAY
WHEN MY SON'S NOT HERE WITH ME.
THE HOUSE FEELS STRANGELY SILENT
AND HIS ROOM, A LONELY PLACE.
I LONG TO TOUCH HIS SOFT BROWN HAIR
AND KISS HIS DEAR, SWEET FACE.
I'LL NEVER GET TO HEAR HIM CALL,
"MOM DO YOU THINK THIS WILL WORK IN OUR TOWN"
I'M LEFT WITH ONLY MEMORIES
PLEASE GOD--DON'T LET THEM FADE.
DEEP IN MY HEART, HIS SPIRIT LIVES,
HIS LAUGHTER I STILL HEAR,
HE'LL FOREVER BE MY LITTLE BOY,
THOUGH I CAN'T HOLD HIM NEAR.
LOVE YOU ALWAY,MAMA

Ron you are to special to ever forget. Know you are loved and though of everyday.

DEAR RON,
IT SEEMS JUST LIKE YESTERDAY WHEN I WAS ON PATROL AND WE HEARD THE CRIES FOR HELP FROM YOUR AGENCY THAT THEY HAD A DOWN OFFICER. I WANT YOU AND ALL THE GUYS TO KNOW THERE WAS NEVER A DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT WE WERE COMING TO ASSISST. I REMEMBER COMING UP 13N AND JUST AS WE GOT TO THE COUNTY LINE THEY CALLED US OFF AND SAID THEY HAD THE SUSPECT IN CUSTODY. I DIDNT KNOW YOU THAT WELL BUT EVERYTHING I HAVE HEARD ABOUT YOU HAS BEEN GREAT AND HOPE I CAN ONLY BE HALF AS GOOD AS WHAT I'VE HEARD ABOUT YOU AND YOUR WORK. WE NEVER TAKE THIS KINDA STUFF SERIOUSLY UNTIL IT HITS THIS CLOSE TO HOME NOW YOU APPROACH EVERY VEHICLE AND HOUSE WITH A LITTLE MORE CAUTION IN YOUR MIND.

RON, YOU WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED IN THE HEARTS AND PATROL OF EVERY OFFICER IN OUR AGENCY!!!!

Happy Birthday my sweet angel. Mama Loves you.

Thank you to Ron Jones' mother for leaving a message on my fiance's page. It means a lot to know I am not alone in my pain. It saddens me to know that Dennis and Ron were not the first law enforcement officers to die in the line of duty, nor will they be the last. My heart goes out to Ron Jones' family, friends and coworkers.

Please accept my condolences on behalf of the McElderry family and remember that Ron is part of huge law enforcement family. If you ever need anything any number of them will be there for you (as I've quickly found out!) From reading the many reflections posted here, I am certain Ronwas well respected and well loved. Thank you for a job well done and for helping to make this world a safer place for us all. Please take care of my fiance Dennis.

Peace, Love, Luck, and Happiness!

GOD.S SPECIAL ANGEL

GOD NEEDED A SPECIAL ANGEL
ONE LOVING, GOOD, AND KIND
AND SO HE CHOSE OUR SON
AND LEFT US ALL BEHIND

THE TEARS WE SHED ARE MANY
OUR HEARTS ARE FILLED WITH PAIN
BUT OUR LOSS UPON THIS EARTH
IS SURELY HEAVEN'S GAIN

AND THOUGH HIS HEART
NO LONGER BEATS
HIS MEMORY LIVES WITHIN
TIME WILL NEVER ERASE THE LOVE
FOR OUR SON AND OUR FRIEND.
RON WE LOVE YOU
MAMA

To Rons Friends, Co-workers and family you have been in the hearts of so many I know it been hard but Ron will be always with us because when we look to the heaven there is a star that shines so bright that it can only come from one persons smile "That's Ron", he always had the most beautiful smile and a little devilish laught. Ron was loved by so many. Ron will always have a place in the History of Prentiss not because he was the first Officer kill on the Police Dept or Because he was the first k-9 Officer kill in the line of duty for Mississippi.
But Because He was a Friend to All. He will live on forever in the hearts of many.
A friend always
Timmy

one year as come and gone. It seem like only yesterday I was with you and oh! how much I wish I could turn back that day. I would do so many things different. I pray that gods lets you hear just parts of what I say when I'm talking to you and you will know how much you are missed and was loved. Because I know you didn't feel that way on earth. But you were LOVED more than you will ever know and I'm so sorry that God didn't let you live to see that. I know you are in a far better place but we miss you so much and long to hear you voice. One day I know we will and until then my sweet angel I LOVE YOU.

Happy New Year, Ron.....God knows you are in a better place

Ron,
I am happy to have known you and when I tell others that ask if I knew you I tell them that Ron was one of us, he was a cop, a real one that did his job from his heart and loved everyday of it.

It has been a year today that you were taken from us, but believe this, we are going on with the work you loved and showed me, as a rookie how to love. I will never forget the times we spent together both working and not. You were always so happy and had a laugh to share about some scene that you were on. Your love for life, work and you family always showed thru, I will always remember that and try to apply it everyday I pin on a badge to do as you did...Protect and Serve.

Miss you Ron
