I am certain that the pain will never subside over the loss that the Jones family has endured. But justice truly is blind, and although this horrific death was indeed a tragedy, I can only support the decision to free Mr. Corey Maye who was only in defense of his home and loved ones and had no idea that he opened fire on Officer Jones.
Law enforcement administration MUST step forward to more adequately train officers so that these kinds of senseless tragedies can be avoided.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the tenth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. I hold your family in my heart's embrace today. I share your parents' anquish of losing a beloved child which surely has to be life's greatest sorrow.
I am also pained to learn that the justice that was given in the first sentence has been snatched away from you. This was a travesty of justice.

Justice evidently was not served. People should wake up as life in prison to me is life, not 10 years. Thank you for your dedicated service in a job that most people have not understanding as to what it entails nor could they ever handle what has to be done out on the stree. You have not been forgotten
