Dear Bobby,

I never met you, but I hear you were a fantastic guy. My daddy new you, and I think my mommy did, too. I wish I could've met you. Rest in peace. My heart goes out to your family on this 10 year anniversary.

Lord, he was yours to give,
and yours to call home.
Please stand by his brothers,
so they're not all alone.
Dry the tears of his family,
so they clearly can see,
that he gave us his all,
so all could have peace.

Blessed are they,
the children of God,
with heavy hearts,
and honor they trod,
to pay their respects,
to give their salute,
and to ask for your mercy
on HEROES IN BLUE.
Amen.

Lieutenant - I sit here with tears falling after just having read your children's messages to you. You can rest assured that you will never be forgotten, for your family keeps you forever in their hearts.

Thank you for your service to our country. You will not be forgotten.

Bob, I never really got a chance to know you. The one time we met is when you helped me and Rich deal with some hoodlums. I do know that your son Bobby, and Daughter Jessica miss you very much. I also know that you would be really proud of the adults that they have become. If heaven is what we believe it to be, you deserve to be on the highest cloud.

Dear Bob:
And so my promise to write a reflection to each of my fallen brothers of 11 September 2001 continues. I only regret that there is no way to exchange these reflections to bring any of you back. But hopefully, to all who read them, they will always be cognizant of your sacrifice, and that of your family...for all of us.
To travel from Jersey City to the World Trade Center and still have time to attempt a rescue of a civilian is amazing. But then so are you and all who died that day. Each of us in America today, owes a debt...a very large debt, to you and to all who made the supreme sacrifice. Many of our fellow countrymen were reunited with their families that horrible day because of your dedication and professionalism, duty and honor.
Bob, no other profession in America is more closely monitored, and visible as our profession. Our profession is one that is in the limelight everyday...and why not? We are America's last line of defense in the homeland, and as the term goes, "profession". Correct, because of officers such as you, we ALL are PROFESSIONALS. I am proud to be a part of the select group of men and women who do a job that most would not. Because of you and your actions, you may not have been able to go home at the end of your shift, but thousands of our fellow countrymen did. And you are forever one of America's Finest.
There is an old saying about what St. Peter is going to say when someone walks through the Gates of Heaven. In your case, I believe that we all KNOW what that is going to be..."Welcome Home, Bob".
Thank you for all did, your service and dedication. May God hold you in His hand, close to His heart, and ease the pain of your family. God Bless you, God Bless your family, God Bless ALL our police officers, and last, but not least, GOD BLESS AMERICA. Amen

To the family and loved ones of Lieutenant Robert Cirri and his fellow officers with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey Police Department and most especially to Robert:

Mere words seem insignificant to honor your heroism and courage which will never be forgotten. On this the fifth anniversary week of the tragic devastation wreaked upon our nation, those brave men and women who lost their lives safeguarding others are remembered and revered.

May your spirit continue to soar and your memory continue to inspire.

In reading the loving reflections left by your son, your wife Eileen, and by your broken hearted parents, I can see that you were an amazing man who is so loved and so missed by so many.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect and gratitude for the distinquished service Robert gave to his community and country, and for the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on September 11, 2001.
