Reflections for Police Officer Eric D. Lee

Eric,

There are no words left to describe what I feel! There is no way to understand the pain, hurt, anger, grief and agony that I have endured and your family and friends! I especially want you to know that your angel is doing great and realizing the impact of your absence daily. It's so very hard to explain what I feel, what we feel but I know that you see us all the time. I will always love you, heck you will always have my heart...until we are together again...your love shines in my life!

Love always,

ME

It will be 5 years that your were taken away from your loved ones. I know the tears still flow and there is not a day that goes by that they don't think of you. In September they will be dedicating the new Chicago Police Memorial where your name will forever be engraved with honor. You are a true hero and will never be forgotten. My thoughts are with your family on August 19th which I know is a very hard day to get through. Keep watch over your loved ones and those CPD officers still out on patrol.

Eric,

I know you saw your baby today singing and playing the piano with passion and grace. I am so proud of her and all of her many accomplishments. We miss you but know that you were there the entire time smiling and boasting on your angel!

Love and miss you

Sweetie,

Thank you for giving to me the biggest blessing of them all...our daughter! It's truly the best Mother's Day gift I can ever have. Through all the pain, the hurt and confusion, I realize that the time I've had with you is truly what God intended and from that our daughter who is now 11 was born! I love you and thank you always!

Sweetie, tonight would be your 25th high school reunion! Leo is hosting a dinner and you will be honored for all the many wonderful things you have contributed! I love you much and there isn't a day that goes by Eric that I don't think about you or even speak of you! Saying I miss you would truly be an understatement!

I read on of the entries and someone said, "When God made you Eric, he broke the mold"! That is so very true honey...until we are together again...love you much!

Hi Eric,

Its been a while since I chatted with you in this forum. I chat with you every time I see you picture in my dining room. The impact of your early demise still lingers. I wish you could see your little dimpled angel. She is taller than I am. Continue to watch over Shawn and Erica until.....

GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN, I CAN STILL SEE THE SHOCK ON ME AND JOHN'S FACE WHEN YOU AND DRE GAVE UP MIDNIGHTS. WE MISS YOU MAN, WE ALL FEEL YOU WATCHING OVER US AS WE ATTEMPT TO REMOVE THE COWARDS FROM THE STREET THAT TAKE GOOD PEOPLE LIKE YOURSELF AWAY FROM US. "LETS BE CAREFUL OUT THERE"

Hi Sweetie,

I met and talked with one of your old buddies today. Small world as he was just with Dre last night and I work with his wife. It was so nice to talk with someone who shared in wonderful memories. He's a great guy! Well, your birthday is quickly approaching...so with all my love Eric, Happy Birthday!

Eric,
I didn't personally know you, but I attended your funeral as a flag-bearer for the 15th District. The services were beautiful, and the Holy Spirit was truly moving on that day. There's no doubt that you were admired and loved by your friends and family.
Your memory will live on in your daughter's music.
God keep you,
George

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Tonight, August 19, 2005 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Police Officer Eric D. Lee who died in the line of duty on this date four years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Lee’s sacrifice will never be forgotten.

On today, the 4th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice, not just as a Chicago Police Officer, but as a United States Marine as well.
