Reflections for Senior Deputy Michael Benjamin Meyer

Mike, I only recently learned of your passing and was saddened. I remember our days at 269 in New River and what a great Marine and father you were.

Dad,

Dad I miss a lot right now. I have an amazing wife, a little girl and boy. I know you would have loved this family of mine. All of us kids are doing good and creating good lives for ourselves. As you know I am a Deputy now and strive to live and work as you taught me too. I’m also a PFC in the Army National Guard (I know it’s the army). I can only image the wisecracks I would be getting from you if you were here right now. Tell Thomas hello for me and I will see you both some day. I love you dad.

Hi dad..
Almost 17years since you went to be with The Lord and live in the kingdom of heaven with Thomas.. It touches my heart so see how much you are still loved.. and still so deeply missed after so many years. Your family keeps growing by the years, you now have 8 grandchildren, with hopes of more on the way. We all are doing well and living happy lives, but you are forever in our hearts.. I hope you are proud of us daddy..

I was best friends with Mike's son, Thomas. We grew up in NC when Mike (Mr. Meyer to me) was in the Marines. Mr. Meyer taught me how to shoot a bow and butcher a chicken.

Can't believe it has been this long. The pain of your loss is just as hurtful today as it was then. Your Son is a fine deputy. I know you are looking out for him. Semper Fi my friend.
