Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Officer Lois Marie Marrero

22 years later, I will never forget that morning or you.

I miss those good old days, I miss Tampa, and we miss you.

May you forever rest in peace.

Amanda, Ashley, and Jerraine
We love and miss you forever

You were on my heart last month, I didn't forget.

On the 21st anniversary of that horrible day, while taking care of some errands, we stopped in for a late lunch. I noticed a table with a few FHP officers enjoying their meal. I asked to speak to their server and told her that Amanda and I wanted to treat their table to their meal. I sent her with a note to let them know it was my honor to honor you and to pick up their tab. It made me feel good. They were thankful and looked you up on this site. My sad tears turned happy when I seen them wave, smile, and thank us as they left. My (your) parting words to them were "be safe."

Happy birthday! We have a Bud Light and a Publix cake to celebrate your 61st birthday. We wish you peace and thanks for being our friend. We will never forget you. You will forever be in our hearts.

Amanda, Ashley, and Jerraine
We love and miss you bunches

On this 20th year anniversary of Tampa losing a great police officer, you were honored by a grateful department and community today.

It hasn't gotten easier. I am ugly crying today just like I did 20 years ago. Your memory will forever live on in my mind and my heart. We miss you and all the life and love you brought to my family.

We will never forget you.

Until we meet again, May God Bless you as you rest in peace.

With all our love,
Amanda, Ashley and Jerraine

We are remembering you and Mikki on this 17th anniversary of your soul in heaven. We will never forget what a wonderful, kind soul you were to us and the community you served. I miss the good old days, I miss you and Mikki. I wish I could load a really good picture I found of you and Mikki, it was your last Christmas. You both were smiling so big and the house looked great with all the decorations. Heaven must be a really great place to be as so many good people I know and love have passed on. Some day we will meet again but until then, you and all my loved ones keep us safe and transitions pain free. We love you Lois.

As I look to heavens tonight, the sky is clear, the stars are shining bright and the moon is nearing it's fullness. On your 16th anniversary year in heaven, my thoughts race back to the day all our lives changed when you were taken too soon. I am just as emotional now as I was then. Your friendship and great memories will always hold a big place in our hearts. You will never be forgotten! We will love and miss you forever.

Love you always,
Ashley, Amanda and Jerraine

I remember how devastated I was when I heard of the death of this police officer. I lived in Tampa FL for about 12 years and my heart really did break every single time I heard about a cop getting murdered because I really couldn't understand why anyone would kill a cop. I wouldn't physically hurt a cop and I don't think anyone else should either. I truly felt so deeply saddened by this brave woman's death. I really did deeply and truly love the Tampa Police Department for many years and her murder brought many tears to my eyes as I am sure it did to many.

Another July 6th is upon us. Spent a bit of the shift tonight reflecting and hoping that I keep your example with my squad. I tell them to do the right thing, and nothing else will matter. I remember you were a stickler for doing things the right way. The people of Tampa loved you because you cared. Thanks for your example to follow.
