To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 85th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Phyllis Lasater Loya
mom of fallen Pittsburg (CA) officer Larry Lasater

Massie was my 1st cousin 3 times removed. He was a nephew to my great, great grandfather Martin Luther Morris. I am very proud of him & he will never be forgotten nor any police officer. In my heart & thoughts always

Massie was my Great Grandfather. My Grandmother Dorothy used to tell me stories about Massie, Tiny, as he was known to his friends - The nickname is kind of funny as he was 6'5" tall and well over 200 pounds. She used to say that while he could be gruff, he was well known and loved by the community. Children used to follow him as he walked downtown patrols, looking for the inevitable piece of hard candy. What I remember most about the stories was how much my Grandmother loved her father, and how much he was missed. His funeral was one of the largest in town history.

Officer Morris - Monrovia was the last city we lived in before leaving California for our new home. I have seen the Monrovia PD memorial with your name upon it. You have left behind a very safe community and we thank you for your service. I pray you are safe in the arms of our God. Rest in peace, sir.

My deepest condolences to the Morris family and the officers and staff of the Monrovia Police Department over the tragic loss of Officer Massie E. Morris. Once again another brother officer has been taken from the thin blue line. After all of these years you have not been forgotten Massie and will always be remembered. May our brother Massie rest in peace. Never forget the fallen hero!
