Reflections for Sheriff James R. Barton

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 155th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, not even 155 years.

Rest In Peace

Of course, Orange County separated from Los Angeles County 24 years after this infamous shootout. A murdering thug no doubt. However, down here in Orange County, the debate continues amongst historians regarding Juan Flores - Hero or Villain........

No fellow Los Angeles County area law enforcement personnel killed in the line-of-duty, should be forgotten.

Deputy Barton, may Your Soul Rest-In-Peace.
