Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. We always competed and was inseparable in everything we did growing up; you, me, Wesley, and Wade. Although we have continued on this earth, it is not without you. Your time may have been short, but your impact was and still is great. I am so glad we shared the times we did. I am truly honored to be your friend.

Officer Paul, I just remembered you today as you came up in a conversation. I worked at the old Gulf Coast photo lab onbhwy 90, and the BSL police department had an account with us. I recall you always being pleasant and funny whenever you came in to drop off or pick up photos.

Paul, you were one of the finest men I ever worked with. You are greatly missed. My biggest fear is not being able to be here for my child, as I lost my Father in the line of duty. I want you to know, which I'm sure you do, your children are fine young people. You left a great reputation for them to be guided by. I am very proud of who you were and I am very proud to see how your children are. I know it has been rough for your family, but I hope they know you are proud of them.

Amazing how a person can touch your life. You did just that, I can't believe it has been 14 years since you left us! I think about you and your wonderful family often. What a great Deputy,Police Officer, Husband, Father and friend you were. I enjoyed working with you at the Sheriff's Department and appreciate how you took care of us Dispatchers, but most of all I Loved the fact that you worked with and had my Hubby's back at Bay St Louis Police Department. A lot in life has changed since you have left us, but we thank God for the Friendship and Fellowship we had with you at work, home and church. You truly were a Blessing and the memories we are left with continue to make us smile.

Paul,

I thought of you today. I remembered the times in Cadet Class #53, hard times, but good times. I remembered how anxious we were to get away from the training center and get out on the road. I have moved on to another career but will never forget you. I miss you.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 12th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Paul, growing up with you and being able to share the times with you, Wesley, and Wade have helped shape who I am today. I think of you often and the mischeivious stuff we used to get into. Although you were taken away from us early, I'm proud of the men we all became.

I know that one day, we'll all 4 get to hang out again. We miss you Paul and I pray that you watch over us and your family.

Love, Todd

Today was the day that our Father took you back home. We all still miss you and think of you often Paul. Hope your watching out back while we are out there on patrol. My prayers and thoughts are with your mom, Sarah and your other family and friends. We lost a great man on this date, eleven years ago...but we keep remembering no matter how much time has passed.

Keep patroling the streets of Heaven until we are called home and see you again.

As we approach the eleventh year since you were taken from us, much has changed. You and I had the type of relationship where we bounced things off of each other, especially the tough decisions. I have sincerely missed these conversations.

I want you to know that I think about you and miss you every day. I always was and continue to be proud of how you lived your life and your ability to make life better for all who were fortunate enough to have known you. As the reflections on your page indicate, you had lifelong friends who continue to remember and credit you with positively influencing their lives.

If the ultimate measure of a man is the impact that he has on friends and family, then the posts on these pages put you at the top of the chart. It comforts me greatly that your life is continues to be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know you.

With all my love, my precious son.

It's sooo hard to believe it's been almost 11 yrs since I received that heart wrenching phone call of your untimely death. I know God NEVER makes a mistake, and I know you're in a much better place, but you have to know that you left such a positive, powerful impact to your Newton County friends. You will never be forgotten!! You gave us all some good laughs, even when we didn't feel like laughing, sometimes. You were such a joy to be around. Even though I didn't have the pleasure of knowing you for a very long time, I will always treasure the short time that we did know each other. Sometime after your death, I looked up your Mother and Step Father and went and met them. It was something I just had to do to get closure on your death. I was not able to attend your funeral, but at a later date, I went and visited where you are buried. It just didn't and still doesn't seem real. You are greatly missed and remembered, my friend.

Mrs. Spadley---
After reading your post on your sons reflection page, I wanted to let you know that Paul was a awesome police officer. I worked side-by-side with him both at the Sheriff's Office as well as Bay St. Louis Police. I share his love for law enforcement to this day and I, too, do the best job a can do everyday that I go on duty. His committment to his children also reflected his true character. His daughters posting on this site brought me to tears last week after reading it. I hope she knows that her father loved her with all of his heart. As I have stated on this site before, Paul was a remarkable officer and father. Thank you for raising such a good man and giving the ultimate sacrafice---your son. Your sacrafice does not go unrealized.
