Deputy Dinkheller,

I just wanted to say thank you for your service and sacrifice. I viewed your video as a recruit at the academy last year. Not a day goes by I don't think about it. I never knew you, but I know just from seeing your video, the world is a lesser place without you. I believe that the lessons learned from your video could one day help save my life, and for that im forever greatful to you sir. Enjoy your beat in heaven brother, you've more then earned it.

Kyle:
I saw the video of what happened to you and it made me very upset and enraged me to see how cruel people can be. You treated the individual in this video with the utmost respect and gave him every chance to lessen his situation. I am one of those out there who still believe in the police and am grateful for the service they provide to us. I wanted to thank you for your service to the citizens of your county. RIP.

Dear Brother in Blue, although I serve on the green side I must say I was shocked by what I saw on the video. You gave that man so many chances to take it easy. You treated him with utmost respect, and he took your life. I pray for you with all my heart and I can't hold back my tears. I know many cops who always react to everything with too much aggression, causing as many problems as they solve. But you were a kind soul, a HERO in Blue who protects us at home, away from wars. I pray for your soul and I'm sorry that another veteran killed you. War creates scars that are deep inside for many folks, and sometimes they never heal. I'm sorry you died so young Deputy. I dedicate my 11 years in the Corps and two combat tours to You and Your family. God Bless You and ALL POLICE OFFICERS who do their daily duties with honor and integrity.

I watched your video today. I then sent it out to my other officers to view. Although we dont know you, I/we can never forget you. I hope you can still look down on your family and that they are safe. If you can, leave a patrol route in heaven for me. Take care.

Kyle,
I miss you so much, I talk about you all the time and look at old family pictures and videos. Grandma and I always talk to law enforcement officers and they have heard of you or seen the video. They tell us how much your video has helped them. I'm so thankful that I got to talk to you the day before you died and I always remember telling you how much I love you and how proud I was of you. You said I love you too Auntie Ella and those were your last words to me. I know and feel that you are happy but we all miss you so much and love you so much and are so proud of you for all you accomplished. I just wish we would have had more time together. As a aunt you are never ready for one of your own to leave so young. Kyle, you know you were like a son to me, more than just a nephew. I love you with all my heart and soul and cry for you everyday. Until we meet again Love you miss you,
Auntie Ella

To Kyle,
I have worked in Law enforcement for over 14 years and the last few years I had become very complacent, and in a way convinced myself that I wasn't in any real danger, that because of my experience I could handle anything. Well, after watching your video it has snapped me back to reality. The people I work with have noticed a difference in me(for the better) and this is because of you. I have an 8 month old daughter at home and you have made me realize how important it is that I come home to her every night. It breaks my heart to think about what happened to you, but I want you to know this Kyle, because of you, I hug my daughter a little harder and a little longer every day. This I know, you have saved my life. It hasn't happened yet but I know before I retire I will be put in a situation that puts my life at risk and because of you I will be more prepared, and for this I thank you Kyle.

I watched this video several years ago when I first began my law enforcement career and have never forgotten the impact it had on me. Although I never had the privelge of meeting Deputy Kyle Wayne Dinkheller, I have never forgotten him and mourn the loss to the law enforcement community by his passing.

Thanks to Kyle's family and allowing this video to be shared with law enforcement personnel, I use it as a training tool for new recruits of how dangerous this job can to our brothers and sisters in blue but also to honor Kyle's memory.

God bless you Kyle and know that as long as I serve in the law enforcement community, your death will not be forgotten and your memory will live on forever both in spirit and mind.

This is one of the saddest crimes I have ever seen. I feel like a part of me is dying with Deputy Dinkheller, as I watched him being murdered in the video. Deputy Dinkheller displayed such bravery and humanness. Also, anyone watching him doing his job can see, he valued human life.

Deputy Dinkheller did not die in vain.

My prayers go out to his family.

What type of animal would slaughter another human being for no reason?

I just viewed the video of your shooting. It had a major effect on me. It just shows the violence that we as officers encounter everyday. Rest in peace knowing that the scum that did this to you will receive his reward soon. I pray for your family and wish them peace.
