I remember the night you left. I said a prayer for you. All these years later I still remember your name.

Paul,
The only time I remember seeing you was directing traffic at a crash at Michigan St. and Angela St. I remember how fit you looked and thinking to my self that if I ever needed a policeman to help me THAT is the kind of officer I wanted showing up. You will never be forgotten around the department and I still hear your name spoken often. RIP.

Paul, I want to thank you for protecting me while I also was on duty with our department and for protecting my family and friends while I was both, on and off duty.
thirteen years have nearly passed and your dedication to duty and your physical fitness will never be forgotten. I am sure that your service to out department had much to do with me being able to serve until 2002 and completing 42+ years of service. In the short time you were alive and with us you conducted yourself in a manner to be proud of. Thank you

Paul,
Today you came to mind and I wanted to reflect upon you and the boy I knew so many years ago. Walking home from school with your sister, my closest friend, you would follow behind us, making jokes, laughing out loud and making me smile. You always had a happy spirit. I remember that. I remember you playing the saxophone and thinking how beautiful it was to listen to you. I believe you had the music inside and it is my prayer that it lives on today. Your memory certainly does. Love and Light.

I have the privilege of knowing Annette Deguch due to the recent death of my husband, Chuck. One of the last outings Chuck and I had before he died, we stood outside the entrance to Southlawn Cemetery the day they took Nick Polizotto to his resting place. We stood with an American Flag and our hands over our hearts. I cried for Nick and all the other officers before him and their wives and their famililies. Chuck is with you Paul and Nick and Scott and I know you will welcome him.

Paul
We went to the academy together, and even though I did not know you very well it was shocking to believe that anyone in our class would have their life taken so tragicly. Rest in peace, and all of our prayers are with you and your family.

I can't imagine how hard it must have been for the family of Cpl. Deguch to accept his death. My prayers go for every man and woman who joins the Law Enforcement arena. May they emerge successful in keep our streets and country safe and may they come home each and every night to their families.
