Your heroism and service is honored today, the 15th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. I thank your family and friends for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections.

Rest In Peace

Well, it's a new year and I wanted you to know that I still think of you all the time. You were taken from us way too soon, and you should know that a lot of good has come from this tragedy. You died doing what you loved. I have never seen anyone so into their line of work. Thanks for protecting Florence County and being my friend.

Joey, You will never be forgotten. I remember that morning. I was going off duty on 3rd shift and you were in the briefing room starting your shift. I walked by and there you were with that wonderful smile you always had for everyone. I stopped to say hello and we had a brief conversation. My last words to you were Joey please be carefull today not knowing at that time it would be the last time I would get to enjoy talking with you. RIP MY Brother you will always be remembered.

Deputy Rodgers
I am a retired poice officer from Iowa now living in Florida. You payed the ultimate price protecting your community, family and friends. You are a true hero. Your memory will never be forgotten, and as I have read Dana has been making sure of that for the past 11 years. You died doing the job that you love, and that I do understand. Putting on the uniform everday day was something I did with pride ervery day, as I understand you felt the same. I would be proud to stand side by side with you.
Dana
I am so sorry for your loss, I have no words that can take away the pain. But I must say that after reading all of Josephs reflections I left with a smile. Don't get me wrong, when ever I read about an officer down my heart breaks, as it did with Josephs. But reading about how you kept his memory alive for so many years, and then how you were finally able to move forward with your life, I felt much happiness for both you ans Joseph. Your were able to move forward, keep Joseph in your life and have twin daughters. Finding the mister or misses right the first time for some is tough, but twice, Impossible for most, Joseph had to be there to help. Maybe they were the daughters that he dreamed of having. You, Joseph and the girls will always be in my prayers. I am going to look for an organization or department that needs volunteers or funds in my area. Thank You. God Bless You and The Twins.

Deputy Sheriff Joseph C. Rodgers,

I am a retired Pennsylvania state trooper and a retired Lake County (FL) sheriff's deputy. The circumstances of your death are as horrendous as any situation involving an officer shooting I am familiar with. I am in awe of the cooperation among agencies in the pursuit of your killer. I am certain that anyone who would dare slay a law officer doing his duty will be flushed down the gaping maw of hell. You have done your duty with honor and valor as a soldier of the law. You have the respect of every good law officer on the face of the planet. Peace be with you as you join the legion of law officers before you who have died in the line-of-duty. I am certain you will be received with open arms. Each of you has obeyed our Creator's greatest cammandment and I am certain that you will lock arms and march through the gates of Heaven. Well done, deputy...well done.

Joey,

On the 11th anniversary of your death we have decided to up the donations being made in your memory by Made In Multiples to law enforcement. We donated $1000.00 to the ODMP for all their work to build this wonderful site to honor our fallen heroes. We are also going to continue to find other law enforcement organizations like NC COPS (Concerns of Police Survivors) to help. When I created Made In Multiples my goal was to be able to give back to law enforcement as I know how little they are paid, and how many depts can't afford the costly equipment to keep them safe. Joey, through all these donations you will be remembered and your story will be shared. The donations will all be made in memory of you and the ultimate sacrifice you made. We will never let you be forgotten. You made a difference in the lives of so many. Hopefully, more companies and individuals will come forward to make donations to wonderful sites like the ODMP. The ODMP has allowed me to feel like I have an internet connection to you, and has got me through the toughest of times. I will pray that others will see how important it is to give back to those organizations that help us heal, and move forward with our lives without forgetting those we love.

Hey buddy, I am currently in Afghanistan doing security contractor work for the US State Department. I left the SO a few months back to take this job. I thought about you on the 9th and told some of my teammates here about you. I can't believe it's been 11 years buddy. I feel better here knowing you're watching over me. I will never forget all the good times we had from kids on up into our adult lives. You have some wonderful parents who always hug me when they see me. They truly miss you and Jim and I know that by the affection they show me and the hurt in their eyes. I have a beautiful daughter now named Caroline who is 18 months old that I miss very much. She and April are doing fine though. I miss you bro but I know you're in a better place.
