Reflections for Sergeant Robert J. Zinck

Officer Zinck, it has been 68 years since you were taken from us. I grew up in Framingham but was only 8 when you passed. But I remember the friends I made on the FPD talking about. It must have had an impact on my, ended up serving for 34 years in NH. New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices that you and too many others have made for us. Thank you for your service.

I am privileged to pay tribute to you. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 44th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Thinking of you today, Babe. Always wondered how you got that nicname, never did get an answer from dad or your brother Earl... Remembering your smile, kindness, and how proud an officer you were. Can not drive Concord St.past that building you were stationed at that night and not think of you. Today a sad day as Mass. has lost another fine officer.

I grew up in Framingham, in the neighborhood of Saxonville, from 1955-1969. I always looked up to the Framingham Police Department. They were my heroes and my dream was to be one. Sarge, may you rest in light eternal were there are no more tears, but life eternal. God bless you and your family. You stood your post. That says it all. Well done good and faithful servant.

It's been 37 years today that your life was lost, Sgt. Zinck. A death is sad enough when it's not preventable, but yours is even more tragic in that it was preventable. Your colleagues in Framingham and your family and friends miss you, but I believe you never truly left them.

God Bless and Rest in Peace, brother.
