Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Pleas Yargee

Rest in peace Deputy Sheriff Yargee.

Rabbi Lewis S. Davis

Yesterday, on the 100th anniversary of Deputy Yargee's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Deputy Yargee is not forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 106th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Your sacrifice was made so many years ago. Evil was, is, and will be a part of life just as goodness such as yours will also be present. What a horrible ordeal you endured.

Rest In Peace

Rest easy brother. I wish antiboitics were common in your day. Thank you for your service and know that you are a hero to many.
