Reflections for Sheriff Louis V. Wyckoff

Sheriff Wyckoff, you will not be forgotten! R.I.P.

Deputy Sheriff
Livingston County (Il) Sheriff's Ofc.
January 20, 2010

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 127th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

THANK YOU SIR FOR TRYING TO UPHOLD THE LAW, IT IS UNFORTUNATE THAT IT COST YOU YOUR LIFE. THOSE INVOLVED ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR MURDERING YOUR PRISONERS AND FOR KILLING YOU BY THEIR INAPPROPRIATE ACTIONS,

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE AND LONG DEDICATION TO LAW ENFORCEMENT. YOU ARE A HERO SIR JUST BY THE PROFESSION YOU CHOSE.

Though the death penalty may have been warranted, this was NOT the way to go about it. Every one of those involved in the lynch mob were responsible for the death of Sheriff Wyckoff and hence, just as guilty as those they hanged. The hypocrisy is more sad than infuriating, though infuriating it truly is.

Sheriff Wyckoff, you tried to do the right thing and it cost you your life. For your efforts to see justice done correctly, for your sacrifice in the name of justice, and for your nineteen years of perusing justice, I salute and honor your memory.

Rest in Peace and God Bless you, Brother.
