Your heroism and service is honored today, the 45th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

The Police Officer's Prayer to Saint Michael:

Saint Michael, heaven's glorious commissioner of police, who once so neatly and successfully cleared God's premises of all its undesirables, look with kindly and professional eyes on your earthly force.

Give us cool heads, stout hearts, and uncanny flair for investigation and wise judgment.

Make us the terror of burglars, the friend of children and law-abiding citizens, kind to strangers, polite to bores, strict with law-breakers and impervious to temptations.

You know, Saint Michael, from your own experiences with the devil that the police officer's lot on earth is not always a happy one; but your sense of duty that so pleased God, your hard knocks that so surprised the devil, and your angelic self-control give us inspiration.

And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your heavenly force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God as we have been to guard the city of all
the people.

Amen.

Thank you for your service to our community. Your dedication & legacy will never be forgotten.

Sincerely,

During my first week on patrol, my sergeant took me to the spot of this murder and told me the history of murderer and what happened on the night of this incident. I hoped that I would never have a shift like that but unfortunately we lost another officer due to a senseless act. Officer Todd Bahr was killed by a suspect after pursuiting him from the same shopping center where this officer was killed.

I was just a very young child at the time of your death, but I walk past your picture daily, and think of how fast life can change for a police officer. We just lost another of Fredericksburg's finest, Todd Bahr. I pray for you and your family. rest in peace brother

Sadness has fallen again in Fredericksburg as we laid Officer Todd Bahr to rest today. You and William are on my mind as I patrol and are constantly reminded how quick life can change. Thank you for all that you have done and please watch over our brother. Rest in peace brother.

Today, June 12, 2008, as I mourn the loss of Officer Todd Bahr of the Fredericksburg Police Dept. I want to remember the last two police officers that the city lost in the line of duty--Officer Roy Glen Wright and Officer William Franklin Mines. The sacrifices you made have not been forgotten. Officer Wright,
On today, the 42nd anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you to you and your partner for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Fredericksburg. Your murderer spent the next forty years in prison before he died there. At least no bleeding heart judge or parole board released him early.

At the beginning of every shift I supervise, myself and the other officers on shift dedicate the day to the memory of a fallen officer.

Tonight, May 5, 2004 we dedicated the shift to the memory of Officer Roy Glen Wright and Officer William Frederick Mines who died in the line of duty on this date 40 years ago.

When one law enforcement officer falls, we all stumble for a while, but we will carry on.

Officer Mines & Officer Wright's sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Officer Wright, family and friends of the Fredericksburg PD. I received confirmation today that the sentenced set forth 40 years ago was carried out on 17 Feb 2004, when Governor Mark Warner denied your killers' medical clemency request, and died in the hospital at Powhatan Correctional Center. As officers we do not revel in death, but bow before Justice as the sentence was issued and carried out so many years after your death. Roy, we as Brothers spoke when you were unable and our voice was heard....Now, Finally, Rest In Peace.
Our thanks to Governor Warner, our family at ODMP, and the officers e-mailing from around the world.

We have spoken on your behalf, urging the Governor of Virginia to not grant clemency to your murderer.

I, too, just left an e-mail for governor Warner to deny clemency for your murderer. You were killed trying to serve and protect the people of your city, you were killed doing your job. I think your killer should stay behind bars forever.
