I remember Bert well, he broke me in when I was a rookie assigned to the Bus Terminal in 1971. Bert was always willing to help you out if you were in doubt, RIP Bert.

49 years. This day doesn’t get any easier. Keep watching over us. Wish the girls and grands could have known you.
And thank you to all who have left such kind thoughts. It is very appreciated.

God bless the Winkler clan. I was good friends with Lonnie and of Coarse Ann. We have been a bit out of touch since Lonnie's passing and am sad to read about Ann. We loved going to Seagate and visiting the folks. Seems like so long time but we still think of Lonnie and Mom Ann all the time. I know he had some sisters but never got a chance to meet them.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 37th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Officer Winkler, today marks the 37th year since you were taken from this earth while in pursuit of a suspect. It’s something that could happen to any one of us at any time and something that we all think about. You gave your all and we can only hope that the individual you were chasing was caught so that he could face the courts, as you no doubt wished.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.
