To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Bennie, today marks 73 years since you were murdered protecting the citizens of Richmond, the Commonwealth of Virginia and our Nation.

Thirty-five years ago, when I patrolled the streets of Richmond, I passed through the intersection of Boulevard and Broad hundreds of times. I learned as a yong patrolman where Richmond's heroes, that came before me, had their lives taken . . . I was aware then, that the intersection of Boulevard and Broad, was sacred ground. You Sir, had made the ultimate sacrifice there, many years before. I honor you Bennie.

Dear Patrolman Williams,

Please watch over the law-enforcement family as we carry on with our daily duties, while we remember our brothers and sisters who have marked 10-42 one last time. Keep us in your prayers for it is tough down here. God bless you and your loved ones. We will meet someday.
