Reflections for Police Officer Robert Daniel White

I still remember that awful day almost 51 years ago - working in my kitchen with the radio on listening as the news reported the death of a highway patrol officer. I had a terrible vision of it being Danny but tossed it off saying it could not be him. Then my brother Buddy called and asked me if I had the radio on. I said oh no, is it Danny and he confirmed it was. I still miss him to this day - our family had recently reconnected to him again. What a loss. We miss you cousin Danny White.

Robert Daniel White was our friend and neighbor. It has been over 40 years since his death and we still remember him with fond thoughts. He was a bright man with a great future in front of him. His daughter and sister, Madeline honor his memory.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
