On today, the 100th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Lawrence a County.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

When Deputy Webb was killed in the line of duty, his children were left orphans as his wife had died the year before, a victim of the 1918 Influenza epidemic. Deputy Webb's last surviving child recently passed away, obituary below:

Cynthia Kathleen Webb Grimes - 1916-2009

Cynthia Kathleen Webb Grimes, 92, of Catlettsburg, died Wednesday, March 25, 2009, in Three Rivers Medical Center in Louisa, Ky.

She was born April 20, 1916, in Lawrence County, Ky., the daughter of the late Edward Perry and Susan Nunley Webb. Kathleen was retired from the Department of the Navy and a member of Buford Chapter DAR in Huntington, W.Va.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Beckett Grimes; a sister, Marie Miller; and three brothers, David Garland Webb, Edward Perry Webb Jr. and James Ronald Webb.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and many friends.
