Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Oscar Ward

I never got to know my grandfather but my Mom talked about him a lot. I know the night he was killed I think she said it was raining, they were all waiting for him to come home. I think my Mom was very young then. I have tried to learn more through Ancestry but have only gotten so far. Not very far. But Mom said he was a very strict father.

I stumbled across this site and thought "Wow, could my great grandfather be on here??" Lo and behold, here you are. You were taken even before my Daddy, your grandson Larry Ward, was even born. My grandmother Opal was your daughter and she told many stories about you. I have several pictures of you and plan to visit the place you were laid to rest, I'm doing lots of ancestry research. You will not be forgotten in our family. Thanks for your service. I hope my Daddy found you and got to know you when he passed away 2 years ago. RIP Great Grandpa.
