M.L,
Something made me think of this incident. My father, A.L. WOODY was deputy sheriff in Bartow, Co. He was first on scene;
headquarters for search was at our home in Adairsville. Daddy, knowing the area was a leader in finding and capturing killer.
I remember going to Federal trial in Rome, Georgia. My father served in law enforcement for 42 years. May God Bless.

Dear M.L. I live very near the spot where your Grandfather was left alongside US 41 Hwy. I was very small but have known of this event all of my life. I believe the other Officer was named Hightower. Sorry for the loss of your Grandfather. Larry Pratt, Adairsville, Ga Bartow County

Visited the National Law Enforcement Memorial in DC yesterday to pay tribute to my Grandpa. Thanks to two men and one bad decision, I never met him but treasure his memory as shared by his children. RIP Grandpa.
