Reflections for Officer Andrew F. Turner

Officer Turner,
On today, the 96th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country-not just as an LEO but also when you served in the U.S. Army as well.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 96th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

While many know of the "Birdman of Alcatraz", few know that he murdered you. That is a shameful fact, and is indicative of how the film industry has sometimes painted ruthless criminals as sympathetic characters. Sadly this still continues but you are the hero here.

Officer Turner,
While your murderer was allowed to reach his full potential, he did so at your expense. Many will wrongly remember him because of a fictionalized story of his life which minimized the fact that he cut you down in the prime of your life. I want you and your family to know that while you died almost 100 years ago, you are not forgotten.

YOU ARE REMEMBERED TODAY AND THANK YOU SIR FOR YOUR SERVICE. ONE HAS TO WONDER ABOUT OUR SOCIETY, WHEN THE MOVIE OF THIS ACTION WAS TITLED ABOUT THE KILLER AND NOT THE LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER WHO LOST HIS LIFE.
