I was young, but knew Officer Thomas as a family member to a very dear family I grew up with, and I will never forget. I have thought of Officer Thomas many times through the years. I heard him play with the family music group. Very nice person, gone too soon.

I had no idea such a wonderful reflection page existed for my cousin and it brought tears to my eyes to read all of these kind words. Unfortunately I never had the chance to meet you, but your memory has lived on through your family and I grew up listening to stories of your bravery and the wonderful son, father, husband, nephew and cousin that you were. Please know you have been missed dearly by your family and I will continue to tell the story of your bravery to our family for years to come. You will always be loved and missed.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 45th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

Officer Thomas-

I want you to know that to this very day, your name is still mentioned and you are still remembered in the CCPD. Early in the Academy, I was assigned to write a report about your service in the Department. Thank you for your service, you will never be forgotten. Personally, I will never forget about Officer J.S. Thomas, the brave Chesterfield officer I did my Academy report about. I hope I will do you proud throughout my career.

I was a teenager the day you came by on Belt Boulevard. I watched in awe as you drove on to eternity. It still makes me numb to remember that day.
