The sacrifice that Officer Don Arndt made should never be forgotten. His wife was left to raise their 3 children by herself & the 3 children were raised without their Father. The citizens of Marysville should never forget and the new comers to Marysville should be made aware of this tragic event. This is
a vital piece of Marysville's history and this hero should be honored.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 46th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. . My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for solace for all those who love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my family's embrace today.

Rest In Peace

Officer Arndt, "Donny", as my mother called him, was her 1st cousin. He died on her birthday. She and my father, who was the Undersheriff of Cowlitz County at the time, attended the service. Strangly, I just learned of this yesterday, November 25, 2005, though my father, who retired as the Sheriff of Cowlitz County, my brother, who is the Chief of Police in Kelso, WA and I all served/serve in law enforcement. Bless you, cousin Donny, for your sacrifice. I pray you are resting peacefully in Jesus' arms. Your cousin, Mark

It is because of you, I became a police officer. It is because of you, I gave the kids the breaks. It is because of you I tried my best. You helped raise me on the streets and taught me what a great friend a cop could be. It was my senior year when you died, your duaghter a friend of mine and and so was "HE". You gave yours, for all of us.

Thank you,

Officer Arndt, Dad has been missed by his family for nearly 40 years. He missed seeing his family grow from 3 children to 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. None of whom will ever have known what a great outdoorsman he was, or what a great sense of humor he had. The people of Marysville, WA that knew him have told me what a fine and reasonable officer he was.

We will always love and miss you Dad.

Your Son,
Billy

My mom was only 13 when you were killed and although I never got to meet you I think of you often and wonder what you would have been like. You are our hero and will always be in our hearts and prayers.

No peace officer is without reflection. Especially when you gave your life to protect others who would not dare face the evil's that you did. Rest easy, hero. You are not forgotten. Never. Rest easy.
