This was year I was born. My father was a California Highway Patrolman serving in Los Angeles. He had 5 years on the job. My family lived through the Newhall incident, numerous riots (Watts/Berkeley etc), the Harbor Blvd. shootings. My father stayed strong and served 30 years. I respect his service and all who have worn the Blue and Gold.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 56th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
