Family, Friends & Fellow Officers Remember...

This is a Hero. Patrolman Stephenson died saving others. Proud to have served on the same force as Patrolman Stephenson. Although I was only 6 years old when Patrolman Stephenson lost his life. I was reading about this Officer and was wondering how is family was and how they coped with such a great loss. I then saw the reflection written by his son Will Stephenson Jr. Hope you and your sister are ok William Jr.. Very sorry for your loss. Officer Stephenson, first seeing the beautiful reflections from your kids tells me you were also a veteran so thank you for your military service. Second, your unbelievably selfless actions that day are beyond heroic and the absolute true definition of heroism and duty before self. It has been hard to reflect as a daughter that has never met her father! However, I will say that not only am I grateful for a dad who would give his life to save another, but for all of the other BRAVE women and men who have also given their lives. I respect and love all officers who daily give their lives. May GOD continuously bless your service and families.

Hey Dad it's been 53 years since your passing and you are still LOVED. In memory of your passing I stick VERY CLOSELY to your Grandson Will Stephenson Jr. 16 yrs of age. You would be very proud of him. He is an Honor student in the 11th grade with a GPA of 3.7. Mom is still hanging in there and so is your daughter Renee who is now 53 years of age. She was born 23 days AFTER your passing. I'm 56 years old and doing very well. Actually we all are and you would be very proud of us. You also have to more grandsons by Renee , E.J, and Tamar ages 17 and 15. We love and miss you. Rest In Peace Dad and be assured that GOD has truly taken care of your family. I was born 5/15/1963 and had 3 years with my father. My sister was born 7/26/1966. 23 days after my fathers passing. So my father and sister never had a chance to meet.
