Reflections for Police Officer Alfred W. Steinat
Please forgive my previous post. I accidently sent it before it was completed as a tribute to you. This is the message I wanted to post.
Your heroism and service is honored today on the 39th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service.
My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Your family is in my heart's embrace. Thanks to your family, especially your son and daughter for sharing their memories and devotion to you through their reflections. You must have been an amazing man and father.
Rest In Peace.

I knew your son in Jr. High. He was a great guy then and has grown into a man that you'd be proud of. You left something wonderful behind on earth when you went to heaven- you must be proud of your family and all they've become. I'm sorry that your life here was cut short. I know Bobby has missed you horribly. In remembrance of all who've given their lives for the protection of all. May you rest in peace.

Hi Mr. Al....Wish I had a chance to meet you and thank you for your son Bob being in my life. I have heard alot about you from many people and Bob talks about you and thinks of you all the time. He is a great man and I think you would be proud of him and his 3 children. I love him very much and see how never knowing you has affected his life and nothing will ever fill that space. I know your out there watching over him and keeping him safe.

Officer Steinat,
After reading the reflections left for you by your family, it's obvious to me that besides being a courageous and dedicated police officer, you were also a dedicated family man. Your tenacity to continue your fight after being mortally wounded is the epitome of what we preach to our young new officers, you are heralded as a warrior and an example for others. Thank you for your sacrafice. Rest in peace.

Dad I wanted to let you know I was thinking about you today as I do every day. The years have passed so fast. I always wish you were there so I had your knowledge throughout my life. God had other plans for us. I always think if it hsd not been you that was shot that night it would of been some one else.
I love you,
Thank you for giving me life before you passed.

Daddy, I went to the funeral of officer Erik Hite today. He left behind a son and daughter, a wife as well as parents. The response all over Tucson was overwhelming.
It was a grand and sad event. I remember well. I love you always, Carole

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived."
- General George S. Patton, Jr
Officer Steinat thanks for your service. Your family still misses you and mourns you. These many years later, they still remember and will always remember.
May you rest in peace and may your family gain more peace as they deal with the situation they have been dealt.
