I never knew Officer Stallworth - I was only 9 when he died. I did have the pleasure of knowing his son who was my first "official" boyfriend - and what a fine person he was so I'm sure that Sr. must have been too.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. . Your heroism and service is honored today, the 45th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Your ultimate sacrifice shows the dangers of police work from a simple traffic stop. Although it has been 44 years the CPD will not forget this ultimate sacrifice and honor your memory and your example of great police work.

Thank you, sir, for your life and service. Though your death is the reason you are on this site, we know it was only the culmination of a life well-lived. You live on through your family, members of your department, LEOs everywhere whose service is a legacy and tribute to you and other fallen officers, and in the life of every person you touched and every person they touched, like ever-widening ripples in a lake. Patrolman Stallworth, you are gone but you are not forgotten. Thank you, sir, for making the world a better place.
