Just found out the name of the officer who was slain at Harris public pool in Ensley Highlands.

I did this research based on seeing a photo of what we called "Hollow Park" at the time and remembering the pool and that incident.

Then I found an article in a Tuscaloosa newspaper (through Google) which described the incident and named the officer.

The reason I did the research was that one person had doubted whether this occurred, so I just wanted to see if I could find something about it so that the memory could be preserved.

NONE
Just a neighborhood kid at the time who remembers this.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 44th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

mom of fallen Pittsburg (CA) Officer Larry Lasater

No Officer that gave his life should be without reflection. "For those who pledge to uphold it, freedom requires a sacrifice the protected will never know."
