Your heroism and service is honored today, the 90th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

Sheriff Smith I often patrol the section of U.S.11/South Lee Highway that is dedicated as Sheriff Israel Smith Memorial Highway in Bradley County.
As I pass the sign honoring you I say a prayer for you and your family.
You would be so proud of the Deputies that patrol Bradley County now. They are a first class group of professionals. They are one of the best in the state... Thank you for you service and sacrifice...Rest in peace Sir...
