Your heroism and service is honored today, the 57th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. I just read the memorial for Wildlife Officer Bud T. Smith and want to say thanks for the job he did. The day he passed away, I was born. I served nearly 30 years in law enforcement and approximately half of that on motorcycle duty. In some way I would like to think that I picked up the torch when Officer Smith was struck down.
May God bless the family of Officer Smith.

Each day I try to read the ODMP. Today I read your story. No officer who gives his/her life for us need ever be forgotton. You died a hero; rest in peace.
