I met Nick in Jr. High school, he was my best friend all my life, and still is today. I was part of his family and was treated like a son by his mother and like a brother by George.
My wife Renate and i are Nicoles God-Parents. When we were married Nick and Linda were part of the wedding party.
Nicole i still morn the loss of your dad. You have had a lot of sorrow placed on you in your life, and God bless you.
Remember the good times, it can ease your sorrow and lighten your heart. That's what i do.

Nick and I served together in the U. S. Air Force back in the 60s. We became good friends as we were sent on Temporary Duty (TDY) assignment. We went to Saudi Arabia in 1963 and to Viet Nam in 1965. I have often thought of Nick but lately more so. I just wanted to let friends and relatives know that I have set up a page on Together We Served -

My heart breaks when I think of the loss of Nick. They are the "Love Story"' he wrote her from the Middle East east when in SAC. Linda & I worked at Litton in Woodland Hills, Ca. Not having met him yet I was in for a treat, he was was so beautiful and did not know it!

We moved out of the area and sadly saw each other when I saw that Nick was killed on duty. I lived in Orange County and went to Simii Valley.

This was so sad, words cannot express the depths of sorrow and grief Linda felt. This love they had was so special, something that does not come along very often.

Even though I moved away and lost touch, they never left my heart. From what I have read is dear Linda and her child gone?

My prayers to the family, to all Police Officers that serve to protect us. My ex-husband retired was a LAPD officer also, God Bless them all.

Nicole, You and your family will never be forgotten. Each time you come to mind I lift up a prayer for you. Your mother Linda was a true friend. I thank God knowing her, you and your brother Nick. I found this page looking for you when I came across a picture of you holding little Nick. Your smiles are so sweet. Don't know if you knew or remember when I came along. My wash machine broke so I went to the Laundry and found your father's sweat shirt in a washer. My husband, Richard worked with your father and gave me information how to contact Linda. That was just before your father was shot. I walked along side during those difficult times and when your mother become ill. You and Nick, as young as you both were, took wonderful care of your mother. I will never forget your example!

Officer Sintic... I was at the cemetery in Chatsworth last weekend to honor the memory of my brother-in-law, CHP Officer Enright, resting nearby. I placed a beautiful white flower on both of your plaques. I hold a special place in my heart for officers of the Los Angeles Police Department. I grew up in the valley, circa 1957, and once almost joined LAPD. You were a member of one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the United States. Thanks again for your service.

Its hard to believe 36 years have passed. I haven't been to the Cemetary in a long time and don't think about Nick as much but when I do, the memory of that tragic morning is as vivid as it was then. Some people come into our lives for just a short time but will stay in our hearts forever. That was Nick. Gone too soon!

It will be 36 years in a few days since that day in 1976. I will visit the cemetery tomorrow and reflect on your dedication and sacrifice to the citizens of Los Angeles. My brother-in law, CHP officer Fred Enright, is resting just a few feet away.

I just finished listening to several "war stories" from my dad (Robert Yocum, LAPD Retired) about the days he worked with Officer "Nick" Sintic at West Valley and Devonshire Divisions. My dad described Officer Sintic as a great man, great partner and a great cop.

I still have memories of playing in the front yard at the age of seven, when my dad came home from a cop funeral and I could see he was obviously upset. While my dad and I were talking, I told him about my memory and he told that was the funeral for Officer Sintic. Even after 30+ years, I can see in my dads face the sad memories the tragic death/murder of Officer Sintic causes him. Officer Sintic, god bless you and your family and continue to watch over the men and woman of law enforcement.

My friendship began with Linda, while we both worked at Litton, in Woodland Hills. She was with Nick and he was in SAC, in Saudi Arabia. They were madly in love, more than anyone I have ever met too this day. They lived the real "Love Story". She was a "cowgirl", and she told me little things about him, from their daily letters.
When I moved too Orange County and saw him on the news, about the shooting, I went too see Linda many miles away. Inconsolable, I have never forgotten that day...how unfair...from what I remember....I believe Nick, his Father and brother escaped Communist Yugoslavia, too come too the United States. I hope my memory is correct. He served his new country and gave more than people even know. The sacrifice too get here, and his life too protect...Nick has been an inspiration too me always

Nikki, I just came across this page for your Father, while looking for you. I never had the chance to meet your Mother, Father or brother. They had all passed by the time our paths crossed many years ago.
You were a huge part of my life for many years and I miss you very much. I hope you are safe and we will see each other again.

I can not say I remember very much of my Uncle. However I can say his death took a real toll on My Aunt Linda along with her health condition. I had a dream last night, which made me get on to start looking up the name Sintic. I see this and tears come to my eyes for I remember my aunt, I remember my Cousin Nick (who was like my brother whom I miss so very much)and then I remember Nicole. Why I dreampt you is beyond me for the last memory of you I have is sitting on your lap at Aunt Linda's funeral. I can say that recently I took my boys to The Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley. Made me think of the house we all lived in and how proud I am of my uncle! I have peace with My Uncle, Aunt, and Cousin being together in heaven for I have dreampt them and they have assured me so. I love you all so very much!To all the fallen Rest In Peace...

A month prior to Zlatko Sintic being mortally shot, he was involved in a police action of a robbery in progress. Officer Sintic took action that permantley stopped the future actions of suspect charles jenkins. This suspect was a viollent career criminal. I was in a violent struggle for my life with charles jenkins having to disarm him ashe attempted to shoot me. I had never thanked officer Sintic or his family for his heroic deed of saving the citizens of L. A. From this dangerous caree criminal. I hope that any family member can add this story to their loving memory of officer Sintic. Always in my memory. Retired officer Robert Young

To the family of officer Sintic: I am the brother-in-law of CHP officer Fred Enright who died in the line of duty in a CHP helicopter accident, June 1975. I was at the cemetery in Chatsworth last weekend and noticed officer Sintic's plaque near Fred's. I said a little prayer of remembrance and gratitude for the service of both officers.
