Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Paul J. Simard

Officer Simard, it has been 65 years since you were taken from us. Northern New England law enforcement has continued to thrive, learn and become safer due to the traditions and sacrifices that you, your daughter Pauline, niece Jocelyn, the Simard and too many others have made for us. Thank you for your service.

Officer Simard,
On today, the 65th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just for your Community but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Armed Forces during World War II. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

God Bless you and your family. Your daughters are as proud of you as I am. You have your life in honor and duty. So terrible that the 14 year old that took your life received such a light sentence. Hopefully she will never forget her deadly sin. 8 years in custody is a miscarriage of justice.

Thank you for your service and please know that your sacrifice is one that will never, ever be forgotten. Rest in peace always.

Rest in peace Officer Simard. Even a fourteen year old female must face the consequences for her actions. Yours sir were gallant.

Although I am more than twice the age you were on your last day with us, July 7th, 1958, I remember how proud you were to wear the blue uniform of the LPD and to go to work 'to serve and to protect' every day. My Hero, My Dad....Love you forever, Claudette

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.

Dad,
The issues are intense. Officers are being killed in horrific ways! Some officers appear to not have the patience and honor you demonstrated on your last call.

May your actions inspire fellow officers to make appropriate choices as they serve to protect all.

Love and miss you,
Pauline

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all those that love and miss you for I know that both the pain and pride are forever. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.

Though i never had the chance to know you, you are my hero. You are a true testemant to what police officers are all about - risking your own life to save others. God Bless you for everything you did. You are truly missed!

Officer Simard,
On today, the 48th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Lewiston. I think it's a travesty of justice that your murderer only served eight years.
