Reflections for Guard Charles G. Shepherd
Rest in Peace, Guard Shepherd. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Guard Shepherd - October 3rd, 1929 - A very dark day in Colorado history. Eight guards killed. What a tragedy of immense proportions. Thanks for your service to the people of Colorado. As a brother from outside the walls, I hope that God grants you and your brothers eternal rest and that His perpetual light shines upon you all.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
I had never heard of this incident. As a former correctional officer at San Quentin, my heart went out to the officers and their families whose lives were forever altered on that day.
Rest In Peace
