To Johnnie Dee Lyons and Kathleen Hozza: My name is John R. Woodruff. I was born July 31, 1947 and was told my father was John Anderson, killed in August 1948 by my mother Bonnie Lee Womack Woodruff.

My father, my hero! I did not know him, but my mothers accounts
Kept him alive for me. He ended his watch on August 9,1948 and I was born January 28, 1949. I would love to find other friends or officers who knew my mother and father? As it happens Life magazine photographers
Captured the rescue and fatal fall of my father and featured the story in the August 23, 1948 issue. It is hard to see, but also quite compelling. If you remember or have other memories I would love to hear from you. In loving memory..Johnnie Anderson Lyons

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 65th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Greetings, This is a personal quest for Deputy John Dodge ANDERSON 's family, so we may honor him for his bravery & sacrifice. His daughter wishes to visit his gravesite. My request is for a copy of his obituary. Our family adopted his infant daughter who was born in April 1948, just months before John's death. Thank you, Sincerely Kathleen Hozza
