Reflections for Conservation Officer Ronald E. Shager

He was my hero. Going to see Uncle Bud
was always an adventure! Sometimes he took me with him when he was checking fishing licences. I remember that he always was able to be friendly and the fishermen were respectful. However, if there was a violation, I recollect that the violater got a good tongue lashing and a ticket! He, as I found out years after his passing, was loved and truly respected by so many others, even folks that he had ticketed.

I knew Ron (Bud) as a kid. He was my Dad's best friend and an inspiration to everyone who knew him. I will always remember him for his sense of humor and his kindness. God bless and keep him and his family.
