Reflections for Trooper Craig A. Scott

Another year passes, and yet the strength of your memory never fades. I wish I could, once more, sit on the sidewalk and watch you polish your white Nova. There was dedication to everything you touched, including my young heart. Your lessons and your spirit live on.

Always with love,

A restless night knowing it will be 42 years gone by and still my heart is heavy. So many memories of what once was and with time, has brought wisdom and strength. I hold you forever in my heart and with the help of family and friends and family of blue, you will never be forgotten.

Until we meet again,,,

Dad,

Perhaps the most profound person in my childhood was you. Whenever I see the Michigan State Trooper uniform, I am immediately brought back to a time when you would walk through the front door with your uniform on...and it brought me great peace. You were a man of values and standards, an emotionally loving person who tucked me in every night and gave me an enormous sense of stability and security. I knew I was loved, unconditionally.

Yesterday, I received messages and calls from those who remember you: police officers, friends, and family. In your absence we are all connected, missing you so deeply. You are always with me.

Love,

Trooper Scott,
On today, the 40th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice-not just as a LEO but for our Country as well when you served with the U.S. Army in Europe during the Cold War as a member of the 1st Infantry Division-“The Big Red One.” And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dad,

The memory of the heart never fades. You were the glue in my young life, the one who kept things in order, the one with high standards and expectations of family...of love. You are missed every morning I wake and every night the sun sets. It only takes a moment of powerful love and emotional understanding to influence an entire life. You did that.

Living in the shadow of your spirit...

I was just on the memorial highway to Trooper Scott. My dad was the sergeant in Bad Axe where Craig cubbed out of. I was very young, but remember him helping my dad install a sliding glass door at home and Craig dropping off Easter baskets for other trooper's kids, including myself. The memory is vivid of my dad leaving in his dress blues for the funeral ceremony.

My love, you would have been 66 yesterday. I visited you and did so much reflection. Made a birthday wish and for your day, started the process for a new stone for the both of us. It actually made me feel better and spiritually closer to you. Another day gone by, another day closer to you. To my Hero indeed, Happy Heavenly Birthday. Until we meet again...

Uncle Craig,
Yesterday we finally got to do something that was long time coming.... you finally have a sign dedication to your service and sacrifice. It was a very hard, emotional day. Uncle Joel, jami, dad n I got to go see the memorials together in Lansing. Who knows when or if we will ever be there together again. It was nice to share that with them since dad and I are there every year. You are missed and loved but never forgotten. Thank you for your service. Rest in peace. Until I see you again.
I miss and love you....

Dad,

The moments, the days, the months, the years continue to pass. I will never forget your love. The life lessons of structure, values, accountability, integrity and the importance taking pride in one's work are still an integral part of me. I know you are still near because I can hear you urging me to stay true and be strong. I will. I am.

Love,

The years have passed,
Reflections come and go.

These anniversaries,,,,one year at a time,
Celebrations of your life, now memories of mine.

A forever reminder of your sacrifice, your service, your family of blue,

Scotty I reflect on my years as a trooper every day and the time I remember the most is the time I partnered with you in Bad Axe. I was one year out of recruit school when I was assigned to work with you and I learned more with you then I ever did with my senior officer and we had a lot fun in the process. RIP my friend

I’m terribly sad what has happened to this family, and the heartbreak this has caused on all of them. I really wish they would reach out to me so we can catch up on so much lost time. I miss you all!
