R.I.P., Warden Schroll. You died doing a tremendously unselfish act for your partner, and you definitely deserve to always be remembered. I reflect on the fact that I was a child of 8 living in Pittsburgh at the time your death occurred. Although I didn't learn about your act of bravery until 56 years later, I do remember that April 4th was Good Friday that year. May God bless and keep you and your family!!

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

What else could a fellow officer ask for but to have a man give the most prize possession that he has in order to save him. That is a true hero. Rest in peace.
