Jailer Runke, as a lifetime resident of Lewis County I want to thank you for serving our County so many years ago. You died one year before I was born but it would have been an honor to have known you. Rest in peace sir.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 55th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

As a former Sheriff's Deputy who worked the jail I know how dangerous the job can be, especially at meal times. Thank you for your sacrifice Deputy Runke, we remember you and continue the watch.
