Reflections for Patrolman James Wade Allen
Patrolman Lee and Allen came to my house in 1968 because my spider bike (they were a big deal in the 60's) had been stolen. I was 8 years old and heart broken that it was gone! I remember through all my tears that they both promised to find my bike. A few days later they pulled up in that blue and white Plymouth Fury and opened the trunk and pulled out my bike! They were my heroes!! not too long after that I remember my mother crying at the breakfast table and later found out why. The two young patrolmen who found my bike were killed in a tragic auto accident. I am almost 52 now and still think of them to this day. I will never forget what they did for an brokenhearted 8 year old. May God bless them and watch over them.

You were taken from this world before I could be born and call you Uncle Jimmy. But that hasn't kept me from thinking of you everyday. Thanks to pages like this you are gone but not forgotten!

You have not been forgotten brother. You and 6 other officers names have been chiseled into a beautiful stone monument outside the department in the city park. I took my kids to see it the other day. It truly is beautiful. God bless you sir!!
